How long have you been in business?
My Husband and I opened our crating and shipping business in 1995 in Healdsburg, CA as North Bay Freight & Packaging. We soon realized that our services were needed nationwide and by 2001 we were offering crating and freight forwarding services nationwide through the internet.
What is your primary product or service?
Our customers require a lot of different shipping methods but our main services include Domestic and international freight forwarding and packing, crating nationwide and to the world.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have worked in the air freight industry since I was 15 years old. I began working at Japan Freight Consolidator in 1982 as a import document clerk, and then worked with U-Freight as an export air freight clerk and then domestic air freight. When I opened my own transportation business at 28 years old we expanded into crating, trucking, ocean freight and blanketwrap trucking.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Because we are experts at packing and crating as well as freight forwarding, we can offer both packing and shipping as one seemless shipment, which is convenient to our customers.
